Apple has reportedly scheduled a mandatory meeting for all retail employees on the evening of September 12 or the morning of September 13, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. This timing is unusual, as pre-launch meetings for new products are typically held on Sundays rather than during the week.
Gurman has also reported that Apple is rumored to unveil the iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10, and new AirPods on September 10. Although this timing hasn’t been officially confirmed.
The midweek scheduling of the retail meeting has led to speculation that Apple might be preparing significant updates or changes to communicate to its teams ahead of the product launch. This could involve final preparations for the iPhone 16 release or new in-store procedures and promotional strategies for the upcoming devices.
The highlight of the event is expected to be the unveiling of the iPhone 16 series, including the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models. These new iPhones are anticipated to feature a design similar to the iPhone 15 lineup, but with some key updates, such as a new capacitive button on the side for capturing photos and videos. The Pro models are also expected to have slightly larger displays, with the iPhone 16 Pro rumored to have a 6.3-inch screen and the Pro Max a 6.9-inch screen.
In addition to the new iPhones, Apple is also expected to introduce the Apple Watch Series 10 at the event. The Series 10 is rumored to feature larger displays, potentially rivaling the size of the Apple Watch Ultra, along with a thinner case design. This could represent one of the most significant updates to the Apple Watch in recent years.
The event is also likely to see the introduction of new AirPods, with Apple expected to launch two new models of its entry-level AirPods, both featuring noise cancellation for the first time.
While the focus will be on these new products, there are also hints that Apple is working on new Macs with M4 chips, though these are expected to launch later in the year.
