Apple has taken down its online store ahead of today’s iPhone 16 pre-orders. Both the Apple Store app and online storefront are displaying a “Be right back” message as the company prepares for the pre-order launch of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Starting at 5 a.m. PDT today, customers in over 58 countries and regions—including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Türkiye, the UAE, the U.K., and the U.S.—will be able to pre-order the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, with the official release set for Friday, September 20. Availability will expand to Macao, Vietnam, and 19 other countries on Friday, September 27.

Unveiled on Monday, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus come in a range of vibrant colors and feature significant camera enhancements. These include a 48MP Fusion camera with a 2x Telephoto option and a 12MP Ultra Wide camera for improved low-light performance and macro photography. Powered by the new A18 chip, the models boast up to 30% faster CPU performance, 40% faster graphics, improved battery life, and the Action button from the iPhone 15 Pro for quick access to key functions.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max offer larger displays and a more durable titanium design. They also introduce an upgraded 48MP Fusion camera system with advanced video capabilities, including 4K120 fps Dolby Vision recording. Both Pro models are powered by the A18 Pro chip, which features a 16-core Neural Engine and a 6-core GPU for enhanced performance and efficiency. The iPhone 16 Pro Max delivers the longest battery life of any iPhone, and both models include new Camera Control features and enhanced audio recording capabilities.
