Apple has released new firmware updates for its AirPods Pro 2 wireless earbuds and Apple Pencil Pro. The AirPods Pro 2 update includes features like head-shaking gestures for Siri interactions, improved noise isolation, and personalized spatial audio for gaming. The Apple Pencil Pro update is likely focused on bug fixes and general improvements.

These firmware updates are part of Apple’s ongoing commitment to providing regular software updates for its devices and accessories. While they may not be as frequent as updates for iOS or iPadOS, they often introduce valuable new features and address critical issues.

The AirPods Pro 2 firmware update brings the build version to 7A294, compatible only with the USB-C and Lightning models. The Apple Pencil Pro firmware update, version 0.1.40, is available for the latest and most expensive Apple Pencil model, introduced in May 2024.

The AirPods Pro 2 firmware update will be installed automatically when the earbuds are connected to an iOS device and placed in their charging case. The Apple Pencil Pro firmware can be updated by attaching it to a compatible iPad.

MacDailyNews Note: AirPods users can check the current firmware for audio accessories via Settings > General > About, then select the AirPods you wish to view and a menu will appear showing relevant device information.
