Now that the iPhone 16 lineup has been unveiled, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman has said that Apple is now gearing up for a “major M4 Mac overhaul in the coming weeks,” claiming that alongside new AI-focused M4 chips and Apple Intelligence, the event may also see Apple debut new, lower-end iPads.

Writing in his weekly Power On newsletter on Sunday, Gurman says a new low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 chip, new high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, each with two pro-level M4 chip options, a new iMac with the M4 chip, and a revamped, smaller Mac mini in M4 and M4 Pro chip variations are on the cards for Apple’s next special event, likely taking place in October.

“I’m told that most of these Macs are already shipping from factories,” adding that M4 MacBook Airs are scheduled for the first quarter of 2025 and a new Mac Studio is coming around the middle of next year. A Mac Pro, meanwhile, will supposedly launch before the end of 2025.

A new iPad mini is believed to be will be amongst the lineup of new iPads expected to be announced in October, with it recently noted that supplies of the current-generation model were running low at several Apple Store locations.

The sixth-generation iPad mini has been on the market since September 2021, so a new model would be arriving right on schedule. Speculation suggests that the upcoming seventh-generation iPad mini might come with significant upgrades, including a new A17 Pro chip or better, which would enhance its performance and support for advanced features like Apple Intelligence. Other potential improvements could include updated cameras and the addition of Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, in line with recent updates across Apple’s product lineup.
